Dr. Dave explains that making mistakes is part of how he learns enough to help listeners and argues that a computer desktop should remain as personal and private as a physical desk. He and Evil Steve remember a childhood Christmas in Washington, describe the National Weather Service opening forecast data directly to Internet users and discuss Apple’s dispute over the British iTunes domain. Most importantly, Dr. Dave corrects the prior week’s fake 1954 computer image, traces it to a submarine-control-room photograph and uses the mistake to explain why attractive claims still need confirmation from several sources.
