A hoarse voice turns Dr. Dave into “Frogman Mason” for the day, with Evil Steve and callers keeping the joke alive as pizza gradually seems to restore him. Dr. Dave predicts that enthusiasts will inevitably make Mac OS X run on ordinary Intel computers, and a blind caller reports that Microsoft’s new antispyware interface has become accessible to screen reader users. Caller Woody’s question gives Dr. Dave an opportunity to explain why attempted data recovery can permanently reduce the chance of success and how logical, operating system and physical failures differ. The final hour also records Microsoft’s newly explicit position that replacing a working motherboard could create a new computer for OEM Windows licensing purposes.
