Dr. Dave and Evil Steve wish Dr. Dave's son Nick luck before the final football game of his season, then spend the show mixing family teasing with practical technology judgment. Dr. Dave explains that he starts consulting with the result a person actually wants and works backward, while the space shuttle becomes an example of choosing robust proven systems instead of the newest technology when lives depend on reliability. His laptop repair method of taping every screw to a paper map shows how that caution becomes hands on practice, and a MySpace discussion argues that technology cannot replace responsible behavior. Looking beyond Microsoft’s heavily promoted Origami device, Dr. Dave predicts that people will keep a useful computer sized screen while phone and personal functions move into connected glasses, an earpiece or a watch.
