April 1, 2006
Dr. Dave and Evil Steve explain why the Mason family added George Mason University to DaveMason.com during its Final Four run: the underdog was from the Washington area and combined the names Mason and Patriots. Because the show aired on April 1, they also enthusiastically present ThinkGeek inventions such as a USB tanning center and wireless extension cords, letting the elaborate descriptions carry the joke. A retail touchscreen call shows Dr. Dave moving beyond a temporary cable patch to the actual environment, recommending a better device design and physical protection for exposed connections. The show also looks back on Apple’s first thirty years, examines the potentially broad impact of Microsoft’s FAT patents and playfully imagines a future disposable printer for travelers.
