A contentious YouTube-debate discussion demonstrates the kind of program Dr. Dave wanted: caller Dave says the host rubbed him the wrong way, receives uninterrupted time to argue for Dennis Kucinich and is answered with clear disagreement and explicit respect. Later, Dr. Dave explains the preparation behind his guest interviews. He first tests whether a guest can communicate, asks what three subjects matter most to the guest and gives fair warning about criticism he needs to raise; when a substitute guest appears without that preparation, Dr. Dave admits his own discomfort and considers how to handle it better next time. The episode also records Dr. Dave's son LT's sixteenth birthday, Dr. Dave's willingness to be educated about a product he doubts and a longtime caller returning with the solution Dr. Dave had missed.
