A data-recovery discussion states one of Dr. Dave's clearest business objections: difficult technical work is already complex enough, and companies should not mystify it further merely to charge clients more. The brothers contrast the polished new studio tools with the old days of torn paper taped to the glass and joke that failed automation may force Computer Talk to become paper full and siliconless. When a caller asks about reinstalling a slow computer, Dr. Dave explains the uncertainty of troubleshooting with a memorable rule: you can go only as far as you can see, and from there new evidence supports the next decision. The episode also preserves his response to criticism of the show's Apple coverage, insisting that he challenges zealotry, reports real problems and makes fun of everybody, including himself.
