The weekend before Christmas puts the whole Computer Talk family together in the studio, with Dr. Dave, Evil Steve, Josh, Dr. Dave's son LT and Dr. Dave's son Nick creating the warm, noisy atmosphere the show remembered best. Windows Vista's estimate of more than forty-eight thousand days to copy a small group of files gives the brothers an enduring technology-history joke, but Dr. Dave also asks the serious competitive question: why does everyone complain about Microsoft instead of taking advantage of its weakness? A Mac caller brings out Dr. Dave's refusal to reduce technology to black and white; Macs can be better in important ways and still have their own problems because no technology is spiritually superior. Near the end, a listener explains the show's deeper impact by calling Computer Talk his class and Professor Mason his instructor.
