March 1, 2008
The March 1 show preserves several moments that illuminate both the old website and Dr. Dave's working character. He and Evil Steve remember learning the hard way not to trust a story merely because it sounds plausible online after a mistaken Andy Rooney item brought a forceful legal response and an improvised cartoon replacement. Dr. Dave again apologizes for delaying his own hosting work, then identifies a deeper habit: helping other people until he no longer has time for what he needs to do, and needing to learn when to say no. A memory of IBM's first 20-megabyte AT drive captures the speed of technology history; what once looked absurdly large now seems tiny, proving the line that every hard disk becomes too small if you wait long enough. The brothers also record that Computer Talk's audio archive was the most popular part of DaveMason.com, allowing listeners to return to any show whenever they needed it.
