After a prior sound problem, the brothers discover that even new studio equipment sometimes yields to the “jiggle factor,” then confront a security environment in which Dr. Dave is less willing than ever to promise absolute safety. His hands-on Internet Explorer 9 beta test impresses him because Microsoft appears to have learned from Chrome, yet he still refuses to recommend it over Chrome before prolonged use; Google’s speed claim prompts his consulting rule that extravagant promises can undermine a professional’s credibility. The episode’s most personal sequence is DJ Fresh honoring a friendly Redskins-Cowboys wager by calling from the road and singing the opposing team’s song while the brothers tease and thank him. A long media forecast anticipates streaming, à-la-carte viewing and pressure on cable, but ends on a more human point: less passive television should make room for an “incredibly realistic life” with other people.
