With Kelly’s Ride one week away, Dr. Dave and Evil Steve speak warmly about honoring Kelly Bond, helping juvenile-diabetes research and joining their friends for a day they expect to be emotional and joyful. Dr. Dave devotes much of the program to a preservation principle: data recovery is neither black magic nor an easy experiment, and a person can destroy the evidence by continuing to manipulate a failing drive. A Windows 1.0 press kit brings back his early debates over which graphical system would prevail, while hard-drive reliability lets him contrast polished claims with years of real-world repair experience. The program ends with a small example of the show’s openness: a listener corrects Dr. Dave’s description of a shortcut, and Dr. Dave immediately says the listener is technically right.
