Dr. Dave explains one of his strongest consulting principles: sophisticated software does not repair weak processes or neglected data; it merely creates confusion and chaos faster. Looking toward the future, he compares experimental metal 3D printing with an early Oki Data color dot-matrix printer whose crude results still revealed what was coming next. A lighter family exchange finds Dr. Dave and Evil Steve calling themselves the “Girth brothers,” thanking each other for the strength needed to finish a barn roof and joking that their work was an Amish barn raising. The complete show also preserves period discussion of CRM systems, social networking, the Moto X, cameras and smartphones, Bitcoin, aging security software and surveillance.
