The most revealing consulting story begins when a client's Internet is completely dead even though the provider's website insists that everything is perfect. Dr. Dave gets in his truck, finds the field technicians working nearby and learns that several blocks are down—an example of staying with the real problem when an automated answer is wrong. Elsewhere, he corrects his own earlier explanation of television subpixels, showing that accuracy mattered more than defending the first version. Dr. Dave and Evil Steve also rediscover the appeal of affordable tinkering through Arduino and a simple home-theater project, map Kelly's Ride from above and reflect on the shrinking world of local custom PC builders.
